INTRODUCTION This Institute is situated at  Nabha Road, back side of P.R.T.C. Workshop. The foundation stone of the Institution was laid in March, 1955 and the training was started in the October, 1956. The Institute has 21.91 acres campus area which includes Administrative block, AVTS block, Hostel block, auditorium, workshops, canteen, sports grounds and Principal Residence & Staff quarters for Class III &IV.

There are so many Industrials/establishment Units, Govt. / Private sectors at Patiala like, P.S.E.B, Central Workshop P.R.T.C., Head Office Architect, Public Health, P.W.D. (B&R), Irrigation, Punjab Pollution Control Board. ,D.C.W.,  Goetze India Ltd., Milk Food Ltd., Verka Ltd., Patiala Distilleries, etc. Patiala is a known  education centre of north zone as there are so many education Institute/colleges like Punjabi University, Thapar Institute of   Engineering & Tech Govt. Medical college & Dental College, Aruvedic college, State college of Patiala, Commerce College, Physical college , Women Polytechnic & Arts colleges.

BUILDING & SPACE OF THE INSTITUTE

The Institute has a well laid out building, which consists of 12 blocks for training and administration, 1 block for Hostel, 1 block for Canteen and 2 blocks for residential Colony. The total covered area of the Institute of all the blocks is about 1 lac sq. ft. Out of which about 61400 sq. ft is for training and administration. The site plan of the Institute as enclosed.
